Johnny Weldon Price Sr.

Johnny Weldon Price Sr., 79, of Pageland, SC went home to be with the lord on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 surrounded by his loving and devoted family.
Johnny was born on January 22, 1940 to the late Roscoe and Ola Mae Price Sr.
Johnny was educated in the Pageland Public School System, where he attended Petersburg Senior High School. After completing his high school education, Johnny established himself as a self-employed carpet installer. He installed carpet for over 40 years and taught the same trade to his three sons. Johnny took pride in his work and established a reputable business that allowed him to travel all over the country.
Johnny was a very giving and loyal man. He encompassed unconditional love and support for those close to him. Johnny was baptized at an early age and received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a faithful member of Mt. Harmon Baptist Church until he was physically no longer able to attend service.
Johnny was an avid race car driver. He loved taking weekend trips to the race track with his sons and long time companion. His prized possession was his 1973 Chevrolet Vega. He enjoyed driving with his good friend, Lloyd Crawford, with whom he won many races. Johnny’s love for the sport of drag racing has been passed down from generation to generation.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, brothers; James Price, Roscoe Price Jr., Eddie Price, Charles Price and daughter Sherry Ann Blakeney.
Johnny leaves to cherish his memory his sons; Johnny Price Jr. ( Tonya), Keith Price ( Colette) and William Price; a devoted companion for 38 years, Jerlean Blakeney and her children Clifford Blakeney, Charlie Blakeney (Michelle) and Marty Blakeney (Monica); two brothers Jay Price and Larry Price and three sisters Betty McManus, Shirley Ann Funderburk and Margaret Ann Price.
A host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren relatives and friends also remain to honor his legacy
